Welcome to the Official Web Site for the University of Hawai'i Alumni Association - Pacific Northwest Chapter.
Our mission is "to establish a University of Hawai'i Alumni Association 'ohana in the Pacific Northwest that reaches out to all alumni and friends to promote a positive image and the Aloha Spirit of the University in the Northwest region".
The Pacific Northwest Chapter also provides an environment for UH Alumni to build friendships, to stay informed on UHAA news and events, and to share the pride of being UH Alumni. We use our time, energy and money each year to support the incoming UH students from our region.

The 2010 Summer Picnic and New Student Sendoff on July 24th was a huge success. Located at Enatai Beach Park in Bellevue, the event turned out to be the highlight of all the events throughout the year to date.
There were about 66 who attended, including 22 freshman and transfer students who will be attending the University of Hawai'i this fall. It was a great time for the new students to ask about UH, dorm rooms, majors and Hawai'i as well as to make new friends... and eat ... there was lot's of eating.
In typical fashion, there was a lot of "ono" food. Mark Nagamatsu was the master of the grill, serving up excellent teriyaki beef ribs, veggie burgers and hot dogs graciously donated by Mark and his wife Gracie and the Yoneda family, John, Karen & Heidi. Our wonderful members and riends brought delightful and deliscious dishes to go along with that and scrumptious desserts.
The live music was out of this world! While there were no takers of the offer to play Uncle's extra ukulele and sing along, the beautiful Iwalani with her bird-like voice and Uncle Danny Kaopuiki charmed us all. It was amazing! They also provided a sound system so that all of our announcements were well received.
The event would have not been the huge success it was without the hard working efforts of Dawn Mallory, our chapter president and the picnic committee: Gracie Nagamatsu, Karen Yoneda, Jay Yoshizawa, John Yoneda, Heidi Yoneda, Richard Asztalos and Danny Kaopuiki
The fun included a fundraising raffle giveaway with great University of Hawai'i logo gear and welcoming of the new UH-bound students with leis, Zippy's gift cards, school supplies and other goodies.
This picnic was also the official launch for ticket sales for the first annual Fundraising Mega-Raffle which has a trip for two including hotel as the first prize. Find out more on the "Fundraising" tab of this site.
Please join us next year on the fourth Saturday in July: July 23rd 2011!
